Staff Profile - Rusty Haines

OSSA is proud to introduce staff member Rusty Haines to all of our members.  Rusty joins us as our Student Programs Coordinator, primarily responsible for our High School Skating Program. 

Rusty’s passion for sport  has lead him to take on many roles. He has most recently served as the Head Coach - Administrator for the Kawartha Gymnastics Club, coached volleyball at the college and university level for 14 years.  “ I am extremely excited to assist in furthering the success of the Student Program and look forward to working with Ontario Speed Skating and the dedicated group of coaches and volunteers who provide so much for the athletes of Ontario”

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a BA in Kinesiology, Rusty is a certified coach in gymnastics, trampoline and volleyball.  He continues to coach as the head coach of the Trent university men’s volleyball program.

Rusty resides in Peterborough, with his wife of 10 years and his three children.
