OSSA is excited to announce the first three scheduled webinars in our Summer Webinar Series! See below for information on each webinar. Future webinars will be released in the coming weeks!

Motivation: Tools to Keep You On Track

Target Audience: OSSA Long Track and Short Track Canada Cup and Canadian Youth Championships Skaters. This includes skaters who have attended a Canada Cup or Canadian Youth Championship, including those who qualified for the 2020 Canadian Youth Short Track Championships in Sherbrooke.
Our goal is to prioritize athlete attendance; however, if coaches are interested in attending, please email hpdirector@ontariospeedskating.ca and we will invite you if space allows!

Isabelle is a member of the Gloucester Concordes Speed Skating Club. She is the current Canadian Record Holder in the 5000m. She was the World Cup Gold Medalist in Minsk, Belarus (World Cup 1) and Heerenveen, Netherlands (World Cup Final) and 2018 Olympian in PyeongChang, Korea!

OSSA Live Video Training Sessions 2020

We are excited to offer weekly live video dryland training sessions for OSSA skaters led by Ryan and Sean McAnuff of Elite Performance Training and the Irish Speed Skating Team!

The series starts next week with the first live session on Thursday June 4th at 7-8pm.

This live video series will be offered to OSSA members free of charge!

OSSA members can register to receive the link to the video sessions via email.

FUNdamentals Leader

FUNdamentals Coach – Part A and B combined
Format: 3 days online and 1 day in person
Dates: Friday June 5 (evening), Saturday June 6 and Sunday June 7 throughout the day (exact times TBC)
1-day in-person debrief day*

Intro to Comp Coach Part A
Format: 3 days online and 1 day in person

OSSA AWARDS NOW ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS!

The Ontario Speed Skating Association has developed a series of awards to recognize the outstanding achievement during the season of both its athletes and volunteers. The awards are presented annually to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to the advancement of the sport of speed skating in the Province of Ontario.

Nominations can be made by any member in good standing of the Association. A selection committee established by the OSSA Board will review all nominations and select the winner for each category. Awards will be presented annually. Members of the Board are not eligible to receive any of these awards.

You can nominate recipients for one or several categories. You will be prompted for names and your supporting information for each nominee. Don’t forget to hit submit when you are done. CLICK HERE  to view the nomination form. Nominations are due by Friday May 29, 2020
