OSSA Open House this Saturday

OSSA members are invited to an open house!  On November 13^th members of the Board of Directors as well as OSSA Staff will be hosting an Open House in conjunction with the Brampton Club at Western Regional #2 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.  Members are encouraged to come meet the Board and Staff members present and ask any questions they may have about OSSA and skating in general.  We hope to see you there!

Special Olympic Speed Skating this weekend!

Special Olympics Skaters invited to OSSA Regional Meets!  Any Special Olympic Skaters looking for some meets to attend in preparation for the Provincial Championships being held in Thunder Bay in January are invited to skate at Eastern Regional #2 in Kingston and Eastern Regional #3 in Markham.  We will let you know if more opportunities become available.

Officials Clinic Coming

There are tentative plans for a level 1 officials clinic at the Bob MacQuarrie Complex (1490 Youville Dr, Orleans) on November 20^th.  More details will be available soon, but if you are interested in participating in the clinic please email the Officials Development Committee to let them know.

Long Track Opportunities Available

• Interested in skating at Canada Cup #1?  You can find the entry form on Speed Skating Canada’s website and then send it to OSSA by November 17^th for branch entry.
• There is a long track pre-CanAm camp being held in Calgary.  Those interested in attending can view the information and the entry form.

Cyclone Success!

The Toronto Cyclones have been awarded a Fesitvals on Ice Grant from Speed Skating Canada. Toronto has done a great job promoting their club and speed skating and continually look for more ways to grow their club. Toronto also received a $1000 donation from Intact Insurance. Well done Cyclones!
